I go to the eye doc for a followup on Thursday, then I’ve got my Memorial Day holiday on Friday, since I worked the weekend. If I had the funds in my account over the next two days, I could get the tire for my truck and the registration sticker. Then I could roll out on Friday to pick up the boat instead of waiting ’til Tuesday next week. I could probably move that up to Saturday regardless, since I am off Friday. Tire and sticker, plus oil change could all be done then, and roll out Saturday morning bright and early. Friday is payday, so Paypal’s procrastination won’t matter then.

Started setting everything up “the right way™”, starting with my employer, which requires a dual employment “request” to be submitted. Well I ain’t “requesting” jack shit, I am telling them. Furthermore, this pisses me off because it’s none of their fucking business what I do on my own time. But I am complying with their invasive bullshit because them’s the “rules”. If they got a problem with that, well that just shows what a bunch of totalitarian pricks they are.

Next is to shell out $38 for a bait dealer’s license. Went up from $35 last year, imagine my shock and surprise. That takes care of the “legalities”. The rest is getting the traps together, and the other stuff needed to make this work. Gonna be a busy feller the next few weeks, and most likely my posts will all be about the things I’m doing along this line. Haven’t had time for much else since all this came down this weekend, especially given the fact I was working “night shift” at the salt mine. But I’ve got the next two days off, and I’ll be able to sort things out after I’ve slept in and recovered a bit tomorrow. Got a lot of catching up to do then, been somewhat “out of the loop” since the avalanche of generosity hit me this weekend! I tried my best to respond with my thanks to everyone who donated. I was overwhelmed, so if I missed you, don’t take offense. I truly appreciate every single dollar sent my way, and will put each one toward getting that boat (and me) working. Then I will be able to pay some of this generosity forward when somebody else is in a tight spot. That would make me feel really good, to be able to help someone else out the way I’ve been helped. As I said, the avalanche of generosity that has come my way today will get me going quite nicely. Thanks to all of you who donated, I will be able to drive to Rusty’s place next month (a week and a half from now). I need one more new tire on the rear end of my truck, and a registration sticker (been out since February), not to mention gas money. It’s an eight hour trip from here, which I know well from my Navy days when I drove from Corpus Christi to Pascagoula (10 hours) and back many times.Y’all have more than provided for that.

Plenty of bucks for perch traps too. And buoys, line, etc. I need to buy a bait freezer, a 100 gallon Rubbermaid “cattle trough” for a perch tank, a sheet of 1/2″ exterior plywood to make the sorting table/tank lid, some stainless hinges, some stainless hardware, an oxygen bottle, regulator, hold down straps, tubing, and an air stone to keep those piggies lively, plus a dip net to get them out of the tank for delivery. I would say I need a 1200 GPM bilge pump and hose to fill/empty the tank as well, but I can make due with a 5 gallon bucket for now. “Creature comforts” will come later, when I’ve made some money from all this.

I told Steve about this just before I went to work. He was going to call the bait shop where he usually sold his perch and tell them I am going to take over. He even said he’d tell them to give me a free hanging boat slip like he had. That would be nice, not to mess with launching and retrieving the boat every day.

Well I am wiped out from my night shift at the salt mine. Thanks again to all who’ve chipped in to support my aquatic madness : ) I won’t let y’all down, promise. With a little luck, I’ll have a video to post soon of a mama dolphin and her baby at arm’s length from the boat, snacking on the pin perch and other “trash” I fling overboard. Close enough to touch. I really don’t know what the fuck I ever did to deserve the never ending line of shit sandwiches I’ve had to consume in this miserable life. All I’ve ever done is work hard, be honest, and stand up for what’s right. It’s that last one that’s burned me the most. So once again, I am looking for a way to get my salt deprived ass out on the water. My work schedule is too screwey to get me weekend rides offshore as a deck hand on charter boats. There’s not much else available, really. The piggy perching thing was perfect for me. Everything else requires a bunch of bullshit “licenses”, which I would have had a long time ago if it weren’t for some slimy ass Navy recruiter. I hope that fucker rots in hell, because if I had become a “master baiter” as he called me for wanting to go offshore fishing, I could have wound up with a sweet ride as a captain on a private sport fishing boat, making really good money, and living my dream. But I was young and stupid, as are most military recruits…

Not cryin’ in my beer, just disappointed, once again. Maybe I just need to get the fuck away from the coast, since I can’t seem to ever get where I want to be, and looking at the water from my deck just pisses me off anymore. Or maybe I should take a giant leap, quit my job, and use the money from my “retirement” to go get a damned captain’s license (HOCK-PTOOEY on your fucking “license”, I been driving boats since BEFORE I was tall enough to see over the console!). Or find some other way which doesn’t require the precious license. I want to be on the water. I need to be on the water… I dunno. What I do know is that I have no money. Banks, and the (may they rot in hell) Small Bid’ness Admistration bloated fucking bureaucrats are no help, unless you’re a minority. I don’t want a fucking loan anyway. Cash money, no paper trail, straight up Free Enterprise. We used to be able to do that in the former Republic. Now, it’s virtually impossible.

Shit, If I could get a 16′ shallow water boat and some piggy traps I’d do it. I got the place to sell them to, all I can catch. Well that ain’t gonna happen, so might as well quit dreaming, once again. Fuck this country…

FBI quietly forms secretive Net-surveillance unit

The FBI has recently formed a secretive surveillance unit with an ambitious goal: to invent technology that will let police more readily eavesdrop on Internet and wireless communications.

The establishment of the Quantico, Va.-based unit, which is also staffed by agents from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Drug Enforcement Agency, is a response to technological developments that FBI officials believe outpace law enforcement’s ability to listen in on private communications.

While the FBI has been tight-lipped about the creation of its Domestic Communications Assistance Center, or DCAC — it declined to respond to requests made two days ago about who’s running it, for instance — CNET has pieced together information about its operations through interviews and a review of internal government documents.

DCAC’s mandate is broad, covering everything from trying to intercept and decode Skype conversations to building custom wiretap hardware or analyzing the gigabytes of data that a wireless provider or social network might turn over in response to a court order. It’s also designed to serve as a kind of surveillance help desk for state, local, and other federal police.

The center represents the technological component of the bureau’s “Going Dark” Internet wiretapping push, which was allocated $54 million by a Senate committee last month. The legal component is no less important: as CNET reported on May 4, the FBI wants Internet companies not to oppose a proposed law that would require social-networks and providers of VoIP, instant messaging, and Web e-mail to build in backdoors for government surveillance…

…An FBI job announcement for the DCAC that had an application deadline of May 2 provides additional details. It asks applicants to list their experience with “electronic surveillance standards” including PacketCable (used in cable modems); QChat (used in push-to-talk mobile phones); and T1.678 (VoIP communications). One required skill for the position, which pays up to $136,771 a year, is evaluating “electronic surveillance solutions” for “emerging” technologies…

Not that we didn’t know the alphabets are snooping around, sans warrants authorizing them to do so. What’s really important about this bit of information is the mobile phone and VoIP application. There soon will be, or perhaps already is, no “secure” means of communication. Meatspace, face to face, that is the only real way to communicate securely. Everything old is new again. well let’s just say we have had yet another round of the frat boys and their continued dissecting of the frog, damn there is nothing left of that frog, it’s now a pile of soggy mush.

We talked on the phone about it briefly, then I lost him. Still some storm damage to the phone lines around here from last week’s tornado. So we didn’t get to finish our own little dissection…

However, the point remains that we can hash, re-hash, dissect, and argue to our hearts’ content, but it will get us nowhere. It is getting us nowhere. The system is hopelessly broken, we know why it is broken, and we know what needs to be done to “fix” it. We can either use the current approach of smearing some Bondo over the rust holes, then spray a little rattle can paint over top to hide the real problem, or we could do it right, by cutting out the rust and rot, then welding in some new metal, prime it, and paint it proper. Option one will last a few years, maybe, but the rust will bubble back to the surface and the Bondo will crack and fall off. Option two, if done properly, will last much longer. With proper care, it will last indefinitely.

I know my blog is not “tier 1″ where “threeper/Patriot” blogs are concerned. I tend to wander “off course” now and then, more and more as of late. That is mostly because I myself reduced that frog to “soggy mush” a while ago. No need, and no point in keeping at it, because there’s nothing to be found there but frustration. For the few “frat boys” who might actually lay eyes on this post, let me make things easy for you. Pieces of paper are just that. Good for scribbling on, making paper airplanes,  paper mache sculptures of your favorite actress’s boobs… But paper makes a very poor cage for those who seek power over others, as we can clearly see. Arguing over paper, words, and ideas is a waste of time. There is only one thing which we all seek, and that is Freedom. Freedom doesn’t come from a piece of paper, it comes from within. It must be rigorously defended from those who would deny our Freedom, something in which we have failed miserably.

Let me state that I fully support those who are actively engaged in trying to restore Freedom. Kerodin, Pete, Arctic Patriot, other bloggers (can’t list them all here), and those who visit the blogs, those who at this very moment are at the Hoosier Patcom, all those who have hosted or attended a Patcom(n), Liberty Summit, and patriot gatherings yet to come… We are all doing something, but there’s a lot more that needs doing yet. Bickering over semantics on a piece of paper is not one of those things. That can be done afterward, when the real work at hand has been finished. After years of my own frog dissecting, this is the conclusion I have come to. Save yourself the aggravation of coming to that conclusion yourself.

We are not going to storm Washington D.C. with our ARs, hunting rifles, shotguns, etc. No “protest”, demonstration, gathering or what have you is going to do a damn thing to stop the freight train that is our government from going over the cliff. The best defense at this point in time is to step off the tracks and let it go. Then it will be “game on”. It will be a messy, bloody business, of that I have no doubt. Words on paper will be absolutely meaningless at that point in time. For those of you still delusional enough to believe you can still “win hearts and minds”, I ask you to take a step or two back, and have a real good look around you. Now, pick out ten people around you who are NOT benefiting from some sort of government assistance. Be honest with yourself, and open minded. Not only the Free Shit Army is on the dole. There’s your Grandma on Socialist Security. The guy with farm tags on his shiny new pickup truck, bought with the proceeds of last year’s subsidized crop insurance. The guy next door who is a manager at a big corporation which received bailouts and “corporate welfare”, tax abatements, subsidies, etc. Your brother-in-law who just landed that government contract which will finally get his small start-up business running in the black. Your nephew who’s going to college on government scholarships and a government loan… Do you think these people will give any of that up? Shit no. After all, they “earned” it. They “deserve” it. They “worked hard” for it…

The government has woven it’s tentacles so deeply into all of our lives that trying to remove them will cause massive destruction and death. You are not going to win the hearts and minds of those who will be directly in the path of that death and destruction, even if they would pause “Dancing With The Stars” long enough to listen to you. I’m not even going to get into the racial/cultural divisions that separate us as a nation, as that would take the rest of the day for me to peck out here.

So what do we do? As Bill Nye has said a hundred times over: local, local, local… Start local. Build your tribe. Host a Patcom, or whatever you want to call it. Find the like minded folks in your area, and if there aren’t any, by God look for some place that has some. Don’t waste your time on those who can’t or won’t “see the light”. Nobody is going to change their minds but themselves. All the information they need is out there, it’s up to them to choose whether or not to seek it out. Keep prepping. Keep an ear to the ground to catch the first rumblings of that freight train. And when it gets close, get the hell out of the way. Then it’s “go time”. I’ll see you on the green…

Piss on this country full of pussified, self absorbed dick suckers. Fuck you and your “licensing”, “bonding”, “professional standards”, and all that self serving, competition eliminating HORSE SHIT.

A couple of asshole Congress critters think it is high time that our government can go all out and turn it’s propaganda unit loose on the American public…

An amendment that would legalize the use of propaganda on American audiences is being inserted into the latest defense authorization bill, BuzzFeed has learned..

The amendment would “strike the current ban on domestic dissemination” of propaganda material produced by the State Department and the Pentagon, according to the summary of the law at the House Rules Committee’s official website.

The tweak to the bill would essentially neutralize two previous acts—the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 and Foreign Relations Authorization Act in 1987—that had been passed to protect U.S. audiences from our own government’s misinformation campaigns.

The bi-partisan amendment is sponsored by Rep. Mark Thornberry from Texas and Rep. Adam Smith from Washington State.
