Things are coming together in these final days before Coastal PATCOM. Dio should have left Kentucky today for his second 1,500 mile trek since the first of the year. Cross your fingers he makes it down okay. My firewood supply fell through, so I sawed up a bunch of lumber I had and won’t be using. Bill is bringing some “real” firewood as well, so we will have plenty for the evening fireside chats.
The beach is looking really good after a nice soaking rain on Saturday.
That pic was from Saturday, we got pea soup fog today so the surf cam is no good. The sand is nice and hard packed, so driving should be a breeze. Speaking of breeze, the weather looks excellent!
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 75. South wind between 13 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly clear, with a low around 60. South southeast wind 9 to 13 mph becoming north northeast.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 66.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 67.
Can’t ask for better than that at this time of year. It could (and probably will) change between now and next weekend, but I don’t foresee anything real bad. The crappy weather will come the week after when Spring Break is here : )
Got a few more details to wrap up over the next couple days after work (damn, I should have taken Thursday off!) but I’ll get it done. It’s gonna be good!

Craig,
I am pumped, work has been kickin my tail, have not had the time to interact too much. Great job see you in a few days. I got the e-mail, will do.
Me too! I’m sure you’ll enjoy Sopsey’s post : )
Have a great time. Wish I were there.
Will do, and we’d love to see you here too.
Leaving out in AM. Loaded truck sitting out there all ready to go.
Just need a couple of things (laptop etc) and ROLLIN!
Have a safe and uneventful trip! Hopefully no VIPR teams this time…
Ya’ll need to have a discussion this time, as to how your movement is any different from the other ones around the country. Such as how these widely spaced groups will communicate after SHTF.
Here in Floriduh we have a network of Hams, of which I am a non participating member ( I own the transmitter but choose not to license it ) Prefer to listen only. We have large established groups in several points of the state.
Mainly , the idea is to survive whatever. Most are strong constitutionalists…
Commo other than the net is key.
Post SHTF comms were covered, and will be talked about again this time. We differ from the others because we will NOT be infiltrated by the political establishment as Occupy and the Tea Party were…
The crappy weather will come the week after when Spring Break is here. ALWATS SPRING BREAK
Yep, Spring Break always sucks here. Cool (if not cold), overcast, and usually wet…
Good luck and God speed y’all!
Thanks!
Communications when the grid is down was discussed last time and will be a topic again…
Yep.
Something unavoidable came up and we won’t be there until Saturday. But we will get there!
donna
It’s all good. Friday night will be a “PATCOM I” reunion pretty much anyways, though anyone is welcome to join us around the camp fire. See y’all Saturday.
