Been busy this week trying to drum up raffle items for Coastal PATCOM. Sadly, I’m not having much luck so far. This city has got to be the most apathetic, lethargic wasteland there ever was. I was turned away by a local bait and tackle shop, and several e-mails have gone unanswered to others. I plan on making some personal visits Monday and Tuesday to a couple gun shops in hope of a donation.
On a positive note, I did get a pledge from Internet Prepper for a couple items. And I’ve got another possible donation from afar working as well. I’m not a “mover and shaker”, but I’m doing the best I can to sell PATCOM to potential donors. My “problem” I guess is that I am 100% honest, unlike most salesmen. I don’t blow smoke up asses, nor do I…. suck bowling balls through garden hoses. That’s a handicap in today’s world, I know…
If you’d like to support the PATCOM movement, please click the donate button on my side bar, or the e-mail link for snail mail info. 100% of the proceeds will be used for buying raffle items, or otherwise directly supporting the PATCOM movement (helping out other PATCOM events, helping compatriots with travel to PATCOM events or TL’s Liberty Summit).
Speaking of which, if you haven’t visited Dio’s blog before, please do so. And kick him a few bucks toward hauling his carcass down here for Coastal PATCOM! It’s money well spent; Dio is a treasure trove of practical information, and a damn good guy too boot.
If you plan on attending, shoot me an e-mail for directions if needed. I’m working on cell comms, and will e-mail the number when established. Just prior to Coastal PATCOM, I will post the exact location on Kleberg County Beach after a final scouting trip. It will be as 2wd vehicle friendly as possible, especially since my truck is 2wd. Shouldn’t be a problem, we had more rain the last couple days, and more yet is in the forecast. Beach driving should be good.
That’s where it’s at. I’m workin’ it the best I can. Still got a couple weeks left…

YOU MIGHT TEACH HOW TO THROW A CAST NET AND HOW TO RIG A GILLNET
Castnet I can do. No experience with illegal gillnets.
Hang in there Craig, you doing great and getting mention from across the blogsphere…The raffle is good to have, but the coming togather of like minds is the best…Worst couple of months right now for most business and especially the outdoors industry so a hard sale for donation is predictable,,,it is by no means a reflection of your ability….
A SHOUT TO ALL THAT ENJOY THIS BLOG, HIT THE DONATE BUTTON AND GIVE CRAIG SOME HELP…..he’s trying hard to do a lot with very little to work with….
Thanks Rusty, I really appreciate that.
It’ll come together. When it gets right down to it, no one’s coming for the raffle. They are coming to be with like minded people.
Take a deep breath and see you’ve created something out of nothing. Not bad at all.
I haven’t created anything. Just fanned a flame from a spark created up in the pineywoods of east Texas a couple weeks ago.
[...] We also have Craig’s Coastal Patcom at the end of the month here: http://keepitsimplesurvival.wordpress.com/2012/02/10/workin-it/ [...]
Hey Craig I can send you a few Slinky Antenna’s to give away, just let me know and I will ship them ASAP.
Pete
Awesome! Thank you Pete!
are you running a circus or promoting like minded folks to gather?
just hold the event……
in the begining it will always be small
til later on others will take notice and join future gatherings
